When you look at my pricing you must keep several things in mind.  One is I came up with the pricing on my own based on what I thought the Form average prep time is worth. Two, I created these prices as a guide to myself and I adjust them as needed from there.  
            As much as I enjoy tax preparation, there are consistent expenses every year, (Paper, CPE courses, books, software, etc.) so there has to be a minimum flat rate.  For a Federal and State return, the flat rate runs $86.50. That is, unless you have a credit coupon. Or you chose to E-file. 

The Credit Coupon: 

You don’t actually need a paper coupon, but there is a way to get your return preparation price cheaper. In fact I have people who get their returns done for free. For every referral you send in, you will receive a $10.00 credit on your invoice.  If you refer a client to me during the tax season before you come in, your return preparation is 50% off. (Only one of these per year. *For existing clients only.*)

For example, if Justins preparation fee is $100.00, and he refered a client who came in and completed their return preparation before he did, Justins cost will only be $50.00.  For each referral that completes their returns preparation with L & R Tax Preparation, he’ll receive the $10.00 credit.  
Effectively, if  Justins return preparation fee is $100.00 dollars and he refers 6 people prior to his appointment, his return could be free.  (50% of for the first, $10.00 of the remaining 5) If he refers new clients after he has filed, the $10.00 credit for each referral will affectively credit next years return preparation.  The $100.00 return could end up free for next year by referring 10 clients after your return preparation.

About My Prices: 

You can’t really judge others prices with mine.  Most places have a great number of expenses that I do not have. Working from my home office reduces my cost significantly. All that above my base price, is for what I feel I have done based on the price I gave the form in the first place.  I don’t charge anyone for work I haven't done.  Adjustable means exactly that.  An adjustable form could be less or more of the listed price or easily be the listed price.  It is all provisional on what is done on/for each form.

An example is the Schedule D list price is $52.50.  If I make only a limited amount of entries, you will not be charged for the full amount. On the other hand, if I fill the entire form, you could be charged a slightly higher fee.
