L & R Tax Preparation was established with the tax payer in mind. I have been doing tax preparation for others since before college. In time people started paying me for the service with no recordable evidence that they had paid for those tax preparation services. (At the time I wasn't in business and didn't have a desire to be.) When I landed in southern Iowa it became apparent there, that the area needed real help in this area. A bit more research determined there was a real calling for year round work, and Dee & B’s Bookkeeping was born on 01/01/1999. (Don't let the name throw you, tax preparation was the primary business.)

In the four years that followed tax preparation became very prominent. During the off season of the tax filing year, I held various accounting jobs. The two of the most prominent are Johnson Machine Works, and RSM McGladrey and Pullen. The later being a position preparing tax returns. At the time, the  largest accounting firm in this country and the fifth largest in the world. Although through a temp service (so that I could maintain my private practice) called Executive Temporary Service. After three years life forced me to leave Iowa and move to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. There I continued to prepare tax returns for others (because realistically it is a personal source of fun).

Missing family, in mid 2004 I moved again, this time landing in Grandview Missouri, where I continued to prepare tax returns in my spare time. In 2006 from pressures’ from friends, family, and clients from years back it was decided to re-establish a full time business presence, as it had became more difficult for people in this area (and across the United States) to find quality prepares. I came by this looking at the countries leader in tax preparation had filed their own returns incorrectly for the second year in a row. By October of 2006 L & R Tax Preparation was officially opened for business.

By the end of the filing season (April 17, 2007) it became apparent that I and L & R Tax Preparation had made a difference. 
          With five contact attempts form a leader in the preparation industry with offers’ to buy me out, I decided I had found a home. (I was aggravating the right people. And had helped more than ever.)

Bad news for them and good news for everyone else, I am here to stay. I am not leaving. I will continue my practice for as long as you and life will allow me.
