Bruce founded D & B’s Bookkeeping in 1999, when he moved to Missouri from Iowa he changed the firms name to L & R Tax Preparation in 2006 on the principals of a work life balance. L & R Tax Preparation was established with the tax payer in mind. Individuals and Business owners are continuously faced with ever changing tax laws and regulatory paperwork. Helping business owners find relief and recognize areas between managing a business and managing their time is a foundation for that balance. This requires open communication to reach an understanding of the clients unique needs, through research, and sound analysis. L & R Tax Preparation is dedicated to meeting these goals with high standards of excellence and professionalism.
Entering the accounting profession over a decade ago, Bruce worked for a wide Varity of firms including Johnson Machine Works, and RSM McGlarey and Pullen. The latter being a position preparing tax returns. At the time, the largest accounting firm in this country and the fifth largest in the world. His combined career paths offer business owners a diverse level of experience and perspective.
Bruce has advised and helped nurture hundreds of small companies into becoming successful, more profitable businesses. He has developed a wide range of custom accounting solutions for new businesses. Clients’ continued use and expansion of those systems are a tribute to the success of the firm.
Bruce has specialized expertise within the Construction, Trucking Industry, Retailing, and Manufacturing Business Industries.
A father of four, Bruce stays very busy. He is married to Debra Sue Elizabeth who, after serving the manufacturing industry for 13+ years, now helps clients of L & R Tax Preparation with QuickBooks issues on her way to becoming a QB Pro Advisor.
Fun Activities beyond the Office
A passion for the sea, Bruce enjoys all things oceanic. Bruce has a great fascination with light houses, as is evident by the many pictures in his office. He builds and operates radio controlled models of sea going vessels, mostly consisting of work boats/ships. He is also a great fan of the Big Trucks that supply our way of life. His retirement Dream is to build a model railroad and daily trips to the water with his models.
